Makeup Tips and Reviews: Three-Step Simple Skincare

By Samantha Casano

Great skin is not just a result of your genetic data; clear skin can be achieved by taking care of your skin and creating good habits, like drinking lots of water. By implementing a simple skincare routine, you may be able to notice a vast difference in the condition of your skin and help it go from drab to fab!

The first product in your skincare routine should be a cleanser. Cleansers are used to remove makeup, debris, and sweat that can potentially clog pores and cause free-radical damage.

They also help prep the skin to absorb the rest of the skincare products in your daily routine.

For those with dry to normal skin, a great, affordable cleanser is the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser. It contains ingredients, such as ceramides and hyaluronic acid, which hydrate the skin and ensure that the skin is not completely stripped of its oils. This product cleanses, hydrates, and helps restore the protective skin barrier. The CeraVe cleanser retails for around $10

at any drugstore.

For those with normal to oily skin, a great option is the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser.

This product contains ingredients, such as ceramides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. It is non-

comedogenic, non-drying and non-irritating. This cleanser helps repair and restore the oils in the skin. The CeraVe cleanser retails for about $10 at any drugstore.

The next product in this simple skincare routine is toner. Toner decongests your pores and rebalances the pH of your skin. Charlotte Cho, esthetician and co-founder of Soko Glam, said, “[Toner] brings your skin back to its natural acidic state, sweeping impurities away and helping your skin absorb your skincare products.”

One of the best toners on the market is Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astrigent.

It is dermatologist-recommended and contains salicylic acid, which is an ingredient that fights

acne. This toner effectively treats and helps prevent breakouts without over drying your skin.

The last step in this simple skincare routine is moisturizer. Moisturizer is an essential component in keeping your skin clear and healthy. Its main function is to hydrate and soften the skin and complement the natural oils on your face.

A great, affordable moisturizer is the e.l.f. Daily Hydration Face Moisturizer. It is a lightweight moisturizer infused with jojoba, aloe, Vitamin E, cucumber, shea butter, grape and orange.

With using just these few, simple products, you will be able to keep your skin clear, hydrated, and healthy!

Makeup Tips and Reviews: The Weirdest Mask Ever

By quovadis April 30, 2018

By Samantha Casano Staff Writer It’s no secret that I love pampering my skin and trying out new products. Recently, I put a mask that I’ve seen surfacing the Internet for a while now, the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. Yes, you heard that right: a bubble clay mask, as in a mask that literally bubbles on your face. The Elizavecca Milky Piggy Mask is filled with charcoal powder, green tea and pomegranate extracts and...
