Democracy House Hosts Food Drive

By Dana Lauria
Staff Writer

Democracy House is hosting its annual food drive in Raritan Hall, Room 005 through
Dec. 14 to help end hunger.

According to the food drive’s flyer, accepted donations are any non-perishable food item,
including canned meats, canned vegetables, peanut butter, gravy, rice, cranberry sauce and
more.

Ariana Simon, Democracy House program coordinator, said, “Instead of doing a
Thanksgiving drive, we decided to do an end of the year drive for the holidays celebrated in
December.”

“I definitely hope that people decide to give a can or two. We had a movie screening with
Volunteers in Action on Nov. 13, where we raised a few cans because a can donation was
required for entry,” said Simon.
