The Blue Colts women’s soccer team played Dutchess County Community College on Oct. 6 and won 5-0.

The team started off strong right away as Gianna Sortizza scored the first goal within the first ten minutes of the game.

The Blue Colts started to put this game away very quickly as Naytasha Spruiel scored the next two goals to put the lead up to 3-0.

They didn’t stop there though as Christina Reyes scored the team’s next goal and put them at a 4-0 lead at the end of the first half.

The team never kept the pressure off in the second half as their defense continued to shut out Dutchess County’s offense. This allowed their offense to stay aggressive which led to Gianna Sortizza scoring her second goal of the game to put the Blue Colts up 5-0.

The Blue Colts are now on a three game winning streak as they enter the final stretch of the regular season. Head Coach, Ted Fiorentino is very confident about the Blue Colts moving forward.

“Saturday’s win was our third win in a row, so right now the team is very confident heading into our last 4 games of the season. They realize some of the games will be a little tougher than Saturday was, but they believe they are up for the challenge,” said Fiorentino.
