Fire Alarm – Chambers Hall – 28 February 2018 4:12 am

A fire alarm activated in Chambers Hall due to smoke coming from a baseboard heater.  The heater was turned off and the fire panel was reset. Maintenance will arrange to have the heater repaired. #I-2018-004559 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – College Drive East – 28 February 2018 8:43 pm

Vehicle #1 was stopped at a red light on College Drive East when it was struck from behind by Vehicle #2. Both vehicles sustained moderate paint damage and scratches. EMS was called to the scene as the driver of Vehicle #1 reported head pain. Driver of Vehicle #1 refused transport to hospital. Both vehicles were driven from the scene. Driver of Vehicle #2 was issued a summons. #I-2018-004637 – Closed C.


Arrest – CDS – Lot #11 – 26 February 2018 6:11 pm

Subsequent to a random license plate inquiry, an individual was taken into custody for possession of marijuana. The subject was processed and released on summons. #I-2018-004412 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – Parking Lot #6 – 15 February 2018 10:41 am

Vehicle #2 was attempting to back out of a parking spot in Lot #6 and began turning too early causing the vehicle to sideswipe Vehicle #1 near the rear passenger side wheel.  Both vehicles sustained minor damage; no injuries were reported. The owner of Vehicle #1 was sitting in the driver’s seat of the parked vehicle when the crash occurred. #I-2018-003521 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – Lot #2 – 13 February 2018 2:37 pm

The driver of Vehicle #1 returned to his parked car in Lot #2 and observed fresh damage to the rear fender.  There are no known suspects or witnesses at this time. #I-2018-003325 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – Lot #6 – 12 February 2018 3:54 pm

The driver of Vehicle #1 was traveling north in Lot #6 and was making a right turn when she struck Vehicle #2, which was traveling west in Lot #6, with the front driver’s side bumper. Both vehicles sustained scratches and paint damage. No injuries were reported. #I-2018-003224 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – Lot #1 – 08 February 2018 3:06 pm

The driver of Vehicle #1 stated that he pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal causing him to travel west in Lot #1, over the curb, through a chain link fence and into a tree. There was minimal damage to the chain link fence and tree. Vehicle #1 sustained damage to the driver’s side wheelwell, hood and fender. No injuries were reported. #I-2018-002933 – Closed C.


Harassment – Main Hall – 08 February 2018 11:50 am

Police responded to the Pony Express Café on the report of an individual harassing the employees. Police were able to locate the subject, who was uncooperative claiming that he was being harassed despite multiple witnesses refuting his claim. The manager of the Pony Express Café did not wish to press criminal charges. #I-2018-002928 – CSC.


Motor Vehicle Accident – College Drive East – 07 February 2018 11:03 am

The driver of Vehicle #2 was traveling west on College Drive East when it was cut off by another vehicle exiting Lot #4.  Vehicle #2 swerved to avoid the offending vehicle and jumped the curb striking Vehicle #1 which was parked in Lot #4.  Vehicle #1 sustained major damage to the front bumper. Vehicle #2 sustained moderate damage to the front passenger side wheel, door and rear view mirror. No injuries were reported. #I-2018-002823 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – College Drive East – 07 February 2018 11:01 am

Vehicle #1 was stopping in traffic at a red light when it was struck from behind by Vehicle #2. The driver of Vehicle #2 stated that when he attempted to stop, his brakes failed. Vehicle #1 sustained moderate damage to the rear bumper. Vehicle #2 sustained moderate damage to the front bumper and was towed from the scene for having faulty brakes, not being safe for the road. The driver of Vehicle #2 was issued NJ State summonses. #I-2018-002822 – Closed C.


Motor Vehicle Accident – Alumni Drive – 07 February 2018 5:47 pm

A pedestrian was struck on Alumni Drive while attempting to cross the roadway. The driver of Vehicle #1 stated that he did not see the pedestrian, who was wearing dark clothing on a dark evening. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital. #I-2018-002854 – Closed C.


Fire Alarm – Library – 06 February 2018 3:10 pm

Police responded to a fire alarm on the first floor of the Library and were advised that the alarm was activated by drill work which activated smoke detector M1-1. The fire panel was reset, no further police action was taken. #I-2018-002717 – Closed C.


Suspicious Person – College Center – 01 February 2018 10:28 am

An individual reported to police that on 1/31/2018 at approx. 1:30 pm, he was approached by an unknown male in the front of College Center and asked if he was interested in a job with the financial aid department.  In addition, the subject asked for the victim’s phone number to plan a meeting later that evening. The victim received an incoming call at approx. 7:00 pm. The subject is described as an Asian male, approx. 5’6″ tall with a receding hairline and unshaven facial hair, wearing a black jacket, black pants, eye glasses and carrying a backpack.  A review of security camera footage at the time the incident took place yielded negative results. The victim was advised to contact campus police if another incident were to arise. #I-2018-002386 – Closed C.
