Three Distinct Zombies

The Theater Club is casting auditions for “Night of the Living Dead” at the Studio Theater on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m.

The auditions are for zombie actors to be a part of the Halloween showcase.

Along with the Halloween showcase the theater club has a lot to offer.

Head of the theater club, Carl Harmsen, said, “Brian

Dennis and I are heads of the club. However, alumni [will] be directing the play. On good days we see 7-12 members, however, we believe this to be because of COVID and the lack of us having production [staff] until now.”

The club usually has a good turnout when it comes to auditions. Harmsen said, “Shows, alternatively, have anywhere from 15-20 auditioners.”

Anyone is welcome to come audition for the show and demonstrate their talent.

“We are looking for people interested in making a name for themselves, and people who want to put forward art that will be appreciated [for] more than just a semester,” said Harmsen.

“Mark London’s Smith’s ‘Night of the Living Dead’ is a parody of the original 50s horror. Zombies will speak, survivors will shriek and the audience will get a peek into the talent Backstage Players (the drama club) have to offer,” said Harmsen.

For anyone looking to audition, prior experience is not required. However, having previous acting experience is also great. The theater club is “looking for new and old blood,” said Harmsen. “In a perfect world, we would have two shows every semester. A big production for the fall and Spring, and a smaller, more fluid improv show for winter and summer.”

Anyone interested in auditioning for the Halloween show can attend the auditions or contact Carl Harmsen at carljh7405@my.middlesexcc.edu with any questions.
