With the fall semester already underway, and the student activities fair's positive success, many students of Middlesex County College are already getting into the hang of things and enjoying the classes and activities the college has to offer. One club in particular, Blue Colt Radio, is already looking forward to a very fun and successful semester with the planning of several promotional events and the emergence of new disc jockeys and team members.

At the first meeting last Thursday, the turnout was incredible. Several people were compressed inside a small room in the college center eager to get their hands on the switchboard and to become a part of one of MCC's most successful organizations. Professor Louis Dell'Omo, communications professor and station director, began the meeting by explaining the history of the station. Emerging in 2004, Blue Colt Radio has blossomed into a very popular college radio station being streamed only online at bluecoltradio.com. The organization is run fully by students with a group of people in charge of several different departments including Newsroom, On-Air Talent, Promotions, and of course Music. The radio station broadcasts live Monday through Friday starting at 9am until 9pm with a different on-air talent for every 3-hour shift. Additionally, for people who still want to be a part of the radio but unfortunately do not have the time to commit to a 3-hour shift there are newscasters that report news and weather at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.

This semester with new members and new people in charge of music and promotions, Blue Colt Radio has a lot to prepare for and much success to look forward to. Professor Louis Dell'Omo, is optimistic about what is yet to come for the radio station this semester. "There are a lot of new positive changes I am looking forward to implementing within our events this semester," he says, " Students as well as listeners should keep a lookout for new and exciting table events and like our new Facebook page!"

Due to the fact that Blue colt Radio only streams online, the promotions team is working hard to get word out about the station.  Stacy Hanas, MCC student and promotions director as well as the rest of the team have been walking around on campus and around the college center encouraging students to download the new mobile app on their iPhone or android so they can listen to the station 24/7. She says, "It has been a huge success so far and we are really excited about students learning more about blue colt radio".  New music is constantly streaming every hour thanks to the music team led by Ashley Pires and Taylor Lier. If you are an avid listener of bluecoltradio.com, expect a lot of fun, new music and be sure to tell your friends to listen in too!" Pires says.

It is without a doubt a proven fact that Blue Colt Radio will be a huge success this fall. Be sure to download their application on your smart phone, like their new Facebook page, and look out for their table events starting next month.
